Protein Powder Reviews

By Chris La Nou

I've been looking for a good tasting protein powder, so I decided to go to order some powders, shakes and drinks to try. Basically, I chose protein supplements that came in canisters to be cheaper. All the flavors were vanilla. Here are my findings:

Myoplex Plus
Consistency: Like cake batter (read: thick)
Taste: Good
Comments: Only available in packets, but it's the best (and most expensive).

Bio-X powder
Consistency: Half turned to foam, half was runny
Taste: okay

Optimum Nutrition Opti-Rx
Consistency: Thicker than Bio-x but thinner than Myoplex
Taste: Pretty close to Myoplex

Overall comments on protein drinks:
The Myoplex is way too expensive for me. The Bio-X was foamy and weird. I didn't really like it. The Opti-Rx smelled like a wet dog when I opened it, but tasted good and is quite reasonable. 30 servings for $30.00 It's my winner protein shake.

Hopefully this will save you some money and you won't have to try all of them yourself. Now let's all get big!
